I think it's 6 or 7 now for salsa. But have had extensive training in gymnastics, springboard & platform diving, and somne circus arts.

My social dancing is rather low-key, focused on connection and balance, and depending on the song could be playful or sexy. I prefer salsa on2, but can follow on1, on3, and try my best with other timings. I performed on1 with a performance style that I hoped was playful, uninhibited, and energetic.

I used to be a competitor, performer, and traveler, but now only do some instructing and coaching locally. Been teaching a lot of privates in preparation for the competition season coming up. I love teaching, and I've gotten so much better at it. I enjoy dancing salsa, but love watching any kind of movement & dance, including ballet, tango, swing, modern, hip hop, ethnic dances, lindy, acrobatics, gymnastics, etc. It's endless.

I started with classes in Berkeley from Ava Apple. I loved her acrobatic style and the combination of strenghth and power with beauty and grace. After 6 months, I was on her team, the Latin Symbolics for several years. Then it was joining La Evolucion with Ciro & Mary Ann and my partner Alex Lee. Then Alex and I performed at LA Congress and next thing you know, we were contacted by several promoters who invited us to perform and teach all over the world. This went on for several years until I decided to retire in Janauary 2006. Since then, it's mostly social dancing for me and I'm loving it.

I love rock climbing, hiking, cooking, eating ,reading, yoga.

when I moved back to the SF area from LA. Took a class from Ava Apple, saw her perform, and that was enough to keep me hooked ever since.
