Default Do you Ballroom Dance?

I will admit that I signed up to take Ballroom Dance because it was considered a PE in college and I needed 5 PE credits. However, I really, really enjoyed the class. I am very tall and none of the guys wanted to dance with me. And one guy accused me of trying to lead. Well, if he'd been doing his part right, it wouldn't have mattered, now would it?

At the end of the class, we were discussing Ballroom 2. I really wanted to take that class, but my very short instructor asked me not to because I was "too clumsy" for the class!

But I am glad I took it and I love it!

I dance ballroom for a couple of years already! Since in my highschool days I already dance different category with different steps in ballroom. When I step on my college days, I was lucky enough because I didn't find any difficulties on the steps taught to us by our professional ballroom PE instructress. I can manage the steps very well from basic to hard steps. Infact, i'm always her partner everytime we had an actual dancing in every new steps and always exempted during our practical exam.

Moreover, after our PE I was hired from our friends mother to teach them some basic steps as their private DI. Somehow I also earn a little bit. So, you should have to be flexible in field of dancing.

I took ballroom dancing in college and LOVED it. Especially Fox Trot and cross step waltz. It was so fun--it felt like going back in time. Everything month we would have a ballroom dance party where we could practice our skills. I'll repeat myself...so much FUN!

We tried to have some dances, but invariably we would end up with more girls than boys. So, we just never actually got around to dancing!

Boys are always a problem! I could never get any of them to come to class to learn ballroom. I even tried to bribe them, but you know teenage boys. My dance teacher ended up teaching me by myself after tap class because no one was interested!

On Tuesday and Thursdays I had ballroom and then tap. Both taught by that evil little man who was nasty to me. And the boys who were in there hated me because I was usually taller than them.

I took ballroom as a part of my complete dance education with the same instructor who I couldn't stand. She considered it important to understand other styles of dance, or else she believed that you would be limited in your ability to improvise.

Isn't it sad how a bad or lousy teacher can totally wreck you? I mean, they are supposed to inspire, not make you nuts!

This is something I would love to learn, if I could get Hubs to join me. I love the grace and elegance of it.
