Default Dance-A-Thon's?

Has anyone ever been in one of these? My MS chapter is trying to come up with a way to raise funds and thought this might be a good way. Weird I know for a disease that can put people into a wheelchair, but better than a walk-a-thon! So, any experience with these?

I haven't heard of them, but I would do one, especially for charity. It sounds more fun than a walk-a-thon. It's a great idea!

I haven't tried it too. But I appreciate the idea of dance-a-thon. If there's such an activity like that in our town, I'll surely join.

Well, I think it is better than walking. You can do it inside and take breaks and make it a fun event. Better than getting up early and walking in the cold morning air!

We did a 24 hour dance-a-thon in high school and I ended up in hospital with a sprained ankle! A week on crutches for charity :P

We did it in the school gym with a sleeping area set up in the common room. We were three teams, and there were always two teams on the dance floor; one coming, one going, and then one would rest. We played poker and ate, then got a little sleep at various points. I think each segment was two hours long, so you danced for four hours at a time.

The details are fuzzy, it was many years ago.

Wow! You deserve a medal for getting hurt for charity! Perhaps I will have to rethink this entire dance-a-thon for fundraising.

Lol, yeah it can be nasty! The poker was fun, played for candy, the lack of sleep was just so so, but the dancing was really fun. But once you start getting tired, you slip and that's a hospital trip. I would like to say though-I finished the dance-a-thon before I went!

Actually, we did one in college. Promote one to sororities and fraternities and they will jump right in to do one! Usually they have to have so many fundraiser/events for charities a year. They walk-a-thons get boring...this was a blast!

Default Dance a thon

We used to have these in high school, b/c I loved dancing, I attempted to do one. I never made it to the end. I imagined I would, but it was a no-go. I can't even imagine doing something like that today.
