Default Dancing with the stars

What do you all think about dancing with the stars? These celebs get real good, real fast. I know alot of time and effort goes into the training, but do you think that anyone can dance? Or do they have to have basice coordination skills from day one?

I've always thought that anyone can dance but not everyone is graceful. I'd hate to discourage anyone with that statement because dance is great, any way you do it, it is healthy. It doesn't matter how graceful you are, unless you're in a contest. I bet those starts do train hard to get where they are.

I agree with you rubybeetle...I think anyone can dance. But everyone varies in grace and talent. And that's fine. I don't think it's about being a perfect, polished professional. It's just a great, fun way to express yourself. Those stars to train hard--I think it would be fun to do!

Thanks for all the responses, grace is a big factor in dance. In time, I was able to achieve it through alot of practice. It took years, though. Once you get it, though, you continue to grow in skills!

Did you see where Pastore quit because it was physically demanding and he is seriously out of shape. The former Sopranos star quit after a week. That's a testament to how hard it really is.

I think the other thing to consider is that many actors do some kind of dance training whilst they are learning to act. It's all a part of the stage training, and though THIS kind of dance may be new and foreign to them, they may have done something in the past.

That alone would help to give them better coordination and help to make it easier on them this time around.

Isn't halarious how dance looks so easy when you are watching it on TV or in performances? Many people who don't dance probably feel this way. Little do they know it is a very challenging sport.

Apparently Heather Mills McCartney is also dropping out. Which brings me to the question of how someone with a prosthetic would be able to handle something this intense? Not to say she couldn't or wouldnt.

Just look at the paralympics! All sorts of disabilities, people with prosthesis, and other problems, they find a way to do. The biggest problem would be lack of feeling, and the artificial limb rubbing against the stump. But a well fitted prosthesis shouldn't do that too much.

I have MS, so I am well aware of disabilities. And I don't believe the paralympics have a dancing contest. I guess what I mean is that the intense twisting and turning and kicking would be more difficult.
