Bellydancing greetings from Las Vegas

Hello everyone,

I go by the name Shalamar. I love to Bellydance, to me it is the most beautiful and sensual dance a woman can perform. A simple way to put yourself and your lover into the mood, romantic and exotic and of course great exercise. Plus one of the few dances where it helps to be a bit bigger.

Any other Bellydancers out here?

Oh and I also wanted to ask you if you perform anywhere in Vegas or give lessons?

I can't even remember when I first got interested in it. I always loved that kind of music and would naturally move slowly and gently to the music. I flirt with my body and my eyes while dancing. I am part Gypsy (from my Mothers side). Consciously Belly-dancing I started about 10 years ago. That is when I first started learning from tapes, books and other dancers.

There is a small group that comes into town during the Renfair, when they come I normally join up with them and dance.

I haven't given dancing lessons yet, but it is something I have been thinking about.

This is something that I have considered getting a DVD to learn how to do mostly as a form of getting some excercise if nothing else as I am sure I wouldn't be any good at it.

Are there any self teaching DVDs out there on Belly Dancing that would be worth purchasing?

If you have a partner you want to dance for and flirt with, this DVD teaches you the finer flirtation points while dancing, plus gives you 9 sensual and playful routines.

Bellydance for Romance with Jayna

The second one are the very basics which is exactly what you need to start with.
The Essentials....Bellydance with Anya. That one is 2-Disc DVD set.

I own both of them and evenso I have been Belly Dancing for many years, I still love to pop them in and dance along. It is fun.

Belly dancing is definitely the most sensuous of all dance forms. I especially like the slow grinding and the sensuous music which goes with it.
