I lucked out and learned to dance for free. Ballroom dance lessons are quite expensive but there are ways to learn it free. One way would be to find a studio and ask them to teach you to be an instructor. Arthur Murray is good for that...although you end up in a contract with them. There are ways though if you really look for them.
